    Smile NEW here :)

Hi everyone, I just joined today. I have been looking for a support group of sorts and came across this website. So, about me...I am 35 3/4(bday at the end of the month) and I have been an emetophobe since childhood. I am especially stressed and anxious during the winter season, when Norovirus is out and about

I am looking for support to get through this tough time and just everyday anxiety support. I do see a therapist and I take Lexapro--just switched from Celexa after 12 years when it suddenly stopped working. My anxiety level has definitely become more manageable but this stupid Noro makes me crazy. I have not been "sick" since 2000 and before that was 7th grade (like 1990?) and before that 3rd grade...but I am still terrified that it is GOING to happen.

Hope to meet you guys and keep in touch!

Hi Amanda and welcome. You sound similar to me...I'm on Lexapro after celexa and also see someone, and had this fear since I was 10 (now 44). You have good streaks going...take a look around this site and also check for the v* streak posts, very interesting and hopeful to read. You will find great support here...keep in touch as well!!

Yes, it did. I don't know why but I have heard that there is a very common phenomenon that SSRI's will "poop out," stop working. Thankfully that hasn't happened with my Lexapro, and it's been almost 10 years. Take care!!
