Lightbulb I need your help :)

Hi guys, I'm Katie. I have been a long time lurker but never posted here before. I've been dealing with emet since I was 5, I'm 20 now. I'm posting today in hopes you can help me out.

I'm going to be making a youtube video soon with some info on emetophobia. My hope is that others with emet might find it and see that they aren't alone, and so that people who know emets can gain a better understanding of how they're feeling and how to help them cope. I would like to be able to incorporate not only what I feel is important to mention, but other people dealing with this do too! This is where you guys come in.

If any of you could give me suggestions for what to talk about in the video I would be so grateful.
I will be explaining what emetophobia is, what causes it, how it's treated and giving tips for people who don't have emet but know someone who does (for example: keeping things clean, washing hands, what to do if they're having an anxiety attack, etc).

Please let me know any info that you think is important and should be included, and I'll be sure to mention it. I'd also like to do everything in my power to prevent this video form being triggering to anyone, so any help with that would be awesome as well! Thanks a bunch in advance.

I would stress how we aren't nuts and not to minimize how serious this is to is. Talk about triggering words. kids terrify is. closed spaces like airplanes and concerts and large events scare some of us. many of us become agoraphobic, OCD and develop mild eating disorders to try to avoid v.

I would talk about how people don't realize it effects are whole life's. We don't just worry when were around someone who's sick or when we are sick. It's everyday. Some of us (myself) have horrible phobias about food. Before I knew about emet, I wondered how I would explain my relationship with food, I wasn't anorexic, I didn't not eat because I hated my body, I was afraid of food because I'm terrified it will make me ill, or to have food in my stomach just in case I was going to be sick. It effects all aspects of life, eating out, traveling, and having kids. It's so much more than a fear, it has caused me anxiety and OCD as well.

There are already quite a lot on there (I think mine's still up, I might have taken it down though, I can't remember), maybe watch some of those and see what they say, and if you've got anything to elaborate on or want to talk about your own experiences then do that.

EDIT: Found it, you can watch it here
