    Default PTSD after V?

Hello everybody! Im new to this forum so i might aswell post a question.

After a V experience do you get this sort of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder feeling (not sure whether that term is correct or not) you feel utterly traumatised for weeks on end and feel like youve "lost it"?

The last time i V-ed was in 2010, and i suffered extreme nausea, depression, anxiety, uncontrollable crying. The list goes on....

I do not know whether this actually is PTSD, but it sure feels that way.

Do any of you get like this after "it" happens?

Yes. I re-live the moments I was sick. I remember what I was wearing, what I ate who was there, etc. I remember all the details perfectly. Sometimes when my mind wonders at night while I'm falling asleep the moments just play through my head in vivid detail and I cant shake it.

I remember the details, but actually have the opposite experience overall. I usually feel better right after or when I have the bug in regards to the phobia. Like I did it, it wasn't so bad after all...but within a couple days it is all back to normal with anxiety...except this last time. I have been continued to be better overall. Not perfect, still working on it, but definitely better.

Remembering every detail and being triggered by anything connected to the event are defi signs of PTSD but it comes with other issues too and is usually self limiting. I've never been able to work out if emet is PTSD related or not but I do know my psych wants me to try EMDR which is a treatment most commonly used for PTSD.

I believe Sage and a lot of other therapists treat emet as if it were similar to PTSD. No doubt it doesn't stack up with being to war or something more typically associated with PTSD, but there are many common characteristics from what I've read.
