    Default Any thoughts?!

I am looking for some advice on what could be wrong and also reassurance.

Friday night my 4 year old was fine ate dinner went to school played everything. She went to bed and woke up around midnight and v*. Thankfully I was able to pull myself together enough to comfort her and help her. I cleaned her up and gave her a sip of water and some cough medicine thinking it was from choking while coughing cause she said she felt okay and that she just coughed. About 20 minutes later that came up too. Then she slept through the rest of the night with no problem. She had no fever her temp was 97.4-97.8 F. She drank some gatorade and pedialyte in the morning and was fine then she ate some toast. She went through the day like this she was tired but no real issues leading me to think she was sick. She did have loose stools two times through the day. Never had a fever food stayed down all day. I put her to bed tonight then an hour later she was crying cause she had v* again. Only once so far and no more loose stool. Still no fever. She did complain of headache like there was a bump on her forehead, post nasal drip, and said her neck was sore.

I am at a breaking point since I am recovering from an emet flare up ( it was not bad for a long time then got bad again out of nowhere), I am trying to help her and comfort her, but I am petrified it is a stomach bug that I am going to catch. Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? I always thought with bugs you wouldnt be okay to eat all day and only v* at night.

doesn't really sound like a virus but it is possible. is she taking any antibiotics? wash your hands and bleach everything that is contaminated.

She isn't on any meds only flinstone vitamins and that one dose of cough medicine. She does have a history of asthma but has been much better the past year and a half. I am thinking maybe strep since it is going around her school, I work there and there was probably 14 out of 20 kids in one class that all had strep. Only thing is no fever I think you have to have a fever with strep. I have been cleaning very good but her father is not so careful but he is fine so far. I havent heard about any bugs going around school it is only respiratory/strep type things from what I hear.

I did have pneumonia earlier this month with no fever just a lot of respiratory/sinus stuff. I am going to call her dr's office in the morning to have her checked out I think.

No antibiotics..I have been cleaning everything. It just is very odd that she only gets sick at night. I thought the lying down maybe with a post nasal drip but she took a nap during the day and was fine, she had even ate before her nap. I am hoping it isnt a bug. I keep telling myself that if it was then she would have been sick after eating during the day not fine all day then v* almost 24 hours later. Plus she has no fever at all.

My daughter did this exact same thing (kind of) she V at 4am, woke up fibe, went to daycare, was quite and wouldnt eat all day so i assumed she was sick...got her home and BOOM that kid ate everything in site, was running around playing and acting like a normal silly 3 yr old, that night....sick 😒 the 1st time this happened the DR said she was sick with a virus because she had loose stool as well... however the 2nd and 3rd, and 4th time this pattern happened, we took her to a specialist and she has really bad acid reflux... Could that maybe be it?
My daughter would be fine throughout the day and V in the middle of the night as well and sometimes she wouldnt even wake up... we also discovered she had a bowel obstruction (i would have NEVER guessed this, because she pooped normally & had diarrhea the night b4 we took her to the specialist )... I dont mean to scare you, it could be a virus, acid reflux, playing to hard etc just follow your gut!
Clean like the clean freaks we are and hope for the best!! How is she doing now? I hope she feels better!!!

Thank you all for your responses. She is still sick, now just d* through the night. No v* since saturday night. She has an appetite in the morning through the afternoon and then it starts to wear off as the day goes on. Last night we were in the bathroom every hour. It always seems to be much worse at night. I am in contact with the pediatrician every few hours to check on her. They believe it is a stomach virus. I have been taking my zofran every 8 hours just incase but so far she is the only one sick. Anyone experience anything similar and any ideas on how long this should last or what I can do to help her? I feel soo bad. We are following the brat diet and pumping pedialyte right now. Dr. suggested probiotic but no specific type. Any suggestions.
