    Default OT: Fifth Disease

Okay so to anyone that has kids who have had this or anyone who knows anything about it....

My daughter is 4 and in Pre-k, and for the past month fifth disease has torn through her school leaving that lovely rash all over the place. I know once the rash comes it is no longer contagious.

Heres my question, my daughter had what looked like a mild sunburn yesterday on her cheeks and nose. NOthing serious and very light. Today, started with the same thing it is more pinkish than red but there were points throughout the day that it would flare up and get a darker pink-red color and spread more on her face but brightest on cheeks and nose. She started to complain that the rash hurt and itched. I am wondering if it is fifth disease or a sunburn. She doesn't usually burn ever which makes me wonder. The other kids in school had a very very deep red rash opposed to her more pinkish red. But I have never known a sunburn to flare up with activity or eating and then dull back out. It looks almost like she has blush on.

Has anyone else had experience with this or any advice with what to use on it for the pain/itching. Could it maybe be something completely different?

could just be a burn. can you apply aveeno and hydrocortisone cream with an ice pack? I think milk on a washcloth also helps.

I will try that thanks! I did try aloe so far. In a way I am almost hoping it is 5th just to get it done and over since apparently you only get it one time.
