Random (and possibly ridiculous) question

Can SVs enter your body through your ear canal? I know you can get a cold by touching any mucus membranes with the virus on your hands (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc). I ask because my headphones were on the floor and I picked them up and used them without wiping them down or anything. I just had my carpets cleaned, but I wondered what would happen if the headphones touched a dirtier surface.

Kind of a silly question, I know.
