    Default New food

This has been bugging me since the dawn of time, i hardly eat anything healthy. I have decided to actually try healthy food.

But is there a possibility of vomiting if you try new food? i mean when i try food, ANY food, ill just slightly gag and spit it out because it tastes "disgusting".

Bit concerned. I have a feeling that if i try new food, ill worry if it doesnt agree with me, if you know what i mean.
thinking of getting started by trying fruit.

That's a good thing your thinking of trying new food .V* from it is very slim, the worst that can happen is that you won't like the taste of it

Well if you never ever eat fruit your body may have an adjustment period to the extra fiber if you catch my drift but no, you will not get sick. You're making a healthy step and that's a very good thing

Without being too TMI, you might find yourself having to go to the bathroom more often if you eat more fruits & veggies...like Collie said, it's your body adjusting to the extra fiber & vitamins. You might get some headaches too if your current diet has a lot of caffeine or sugar in it. Don't let that deter you- you will probably NOT v*.

I was like this before too, I was seriously the pickiest eater, it was ridiculous!

What helped me was finally realizing that it wasn't that things necessarily tasted yucky, but that they tasted different. Sometimes of course, things really do taste gross, but often its just that you aren't used to the taste. Once I finally realized that, it was easier to try stuff. So when you're tasting a food, focus on what it tastes like: Is it sweet? Salty? Bitter? Not bad right? Just different. Remember there are probably millions of people who eat that food every day and don't get sick from it. And also try to think of it as an experience.

I have never gotten sick from trying a new food and I don't think its very likely. If it really worries you just eat a tiny bit, like a small bite. Or even a crumb. There's no way that'll make you sick, and you can slowly adjust to trying it. I never was able to eat fish before, but one night I decided to try just a bite. Then I tried a bit more the next time, and then more and more and now its one of my favourite foods.

Another thing that helped me was combining foods I hadn't tried of wash't fond of with comfort foods. For example I'd have broccoli with a load of cheese on it, or lettuce with olives (I love olives, used to hate lettuce, ahha) . It helps you adjust, and eventually you'll realize the taste of it on its own isn't so bad either.

By wanting to try new foods you're taking the first step, so good for you! For me nothing changed until I consciously wanted to either, and now I love trying new foods. It only took me a couple of years to go from absolutely hating a ton of foods I had hardly to tried, to having a whole new list (which is much healthier than before) of things I love to eat. If you want a list or something of easier to try foods feel free to PM me, I can give you some suggestions
