    Default Contagious train people!!!

Hey everyone... Kinda in panic mode I'm on the train to Perth city on my way to uni! Scared I will either pass out or v* as all I can smell is people's bad breath and BO (bad breath is a n* trigger for me). I am crammed in and there are possibly contagious people touching me. People think they can cram themselves in so much I can't even get my backpack back in my back. I have it in my mind that at least one of these people have a viral illness I'm gonna catch something from these train people. I can't drive to the city or I'll add an extra 2 hrs to my trip due to traffic! The worst thing is that the train is ok when i board, its the people on subsequent stations that cram themselves in beyond physics! I need help or advice on these train rides they freak me out and uni semester has only just started!!! Does anyone else have the same experience?
    cheers

I live in a busy city in the US and had to ride the train for 2+ hours each day, 5 days a week for like 10 years. It stunk (literally and figuratively). I made it through and only saw v a few times (morning sickness people). I hate the sardine thing. I used to try to cram myself up against a wall so even if I was pushed, I had one side of me with no people. Can you do that?

My sister rides a train to and from work each day in a large city here in the US. She's never ever gotten sick. You use good hygiene remember that!
If you try and tell me a phobia is unreal. I dare you to live a day, and feel what I have to feel.

Thanks guys! I try to stay near the door but the people at subsequent stations that push the door people back! I always carry a bottle of hand disinfectant in my bag plus I bury my nose in my scarf so all I smell is wool. The thing that worries me is the viral illnesses, luckily no one has v* on a train with me in the train. I guess I'll just have to wear my scarf and just fight for the door spot. It's survival of the fittest in that train!!! Maybe take some zofran before the train ride?

don't try to rely on zofran for train rides. it really should only be used when you feel N. You don't want to get hooked (not really addicted, but rely on) on meds like that. IF you want, cover your face with your scarf, but I think you'll be just fine!

I lived in London and the underground was horrific but I never caught anything. I've also used really disgusting toilets on trains and eaten with my hands and always been fine! Totally understand the fear though - public transport sucks even for non emets never mind for us!
