I didn't wash his face afterwards!

It's highly unlikely your son will get anything. When I had a dog I'd kiss her on the head or the snout all the time. Kissing the dog on the mouth is nasty but your 2 year old doesn't know any better so it's kind of cute. Dogs don't share many illnesses with us so there isn't much call for alarm, especially if the animal lives inside and you all are healthy, he's just not going to have any opportunity to grab any illness to share with your son. Laugh about it and don't worry! Your son will be fine, and it's great he loves that dog.

It was pretty cute so I didn't give out to him about it I just said eww lol I really hope he continues to be like he is with the dog as I'm pretty terrified of them and don't want him to have any of my weird phobias! He's an indoor dog too so fingers crossed he will be safe enough

My dog licks my mouth sometimes. I don't let her, she just goes crazy and gets me there at times. lol. I kiss her head too. Discourage the mouth, sure, but you do not have much to worry about. Dogs love affection.

I wouldn't worry about it! I've been a dog owner for 15 years, 3 different dogs, and they all attack me with kisses wherever they please. No issues here.

To be honest I've learned a good lesson from this I usually am the only one to completely stay away from the dog but watching him and my son together shows I can't catch imaginary illness from my poor dog bless him

My kids do that to my dog all the time. They're fine. And random dogs have liked their faces. They have also done that to my sister gigantic dog and he's returned the kisses lol.

Over the years I have taken care of many a dog, cat and horse. . Even when they have been very sick and not once did I catch anything from them, except ringworm once when I was a kid

I kiss my little doggie's face all the time ( not her mouth) and nothing has ever happened. Honestly the thought never occurred to me that my dog could even make me sick.
