Default POS TRIGGER Does anyone else have this fear? Feel alone

Hello as I am new to this group. My fear is both similar and different from what I see here. Although I have a HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGE fear of being ill, my biggest fear is a fear of gagging, even more so than v-ing. The fear that leaves me in a panic is that I will either start g-ing or v-ing and that I will not be able to stop.

Does anyone have this same fear? It causes me to panic nonstop!

I have a pretty bad fear of it too, especially because it usually comes right before v*. When I was little, I went to the doctor because I had to have my throat swabbed and it took three nurses to hold me down because I was so afraid that the swab might trigger my g*g reflex. They ended up sending me home without even doing it.

Anyway, the point of that story was to tell you that you're not alone just because your fear is a tiny bit different.

I understand.. I get freaked out if I feel the least bit gaggy. I find myself chewing gum or hard candy a lot because is soothes that feeling for me. But that kinda backfired on me, I chewed so much spearamint gum that it started really burning my stomach I mean bad, but I was chewing a bunch.. So now I've slacked off that.. Anyway, you're not alone...

I'm the same x_x I think choking, gagging, not being able to breathe and all that is worse than the main thing for me, because it's over quickly(even though it's the nastiest thing Ew)
I avoid things that possibly might make me gag like hell itself!!!! if I were to only v* without gagging I would be soo horrified, but I'd recover much faster.

    Thanks for the replies!

Cat1, you mentioned two other past fears of mine! I never really noticed a connection between all four until now. As a child, I both chocked on a jawbreaker and was bullied by someone who constantly would put me in choke holds. You think there may be a connection?

You're definitely not alone! For me, the gagging is the part of being sick where I feel I have the least control....the whole act, of course, kind of throws control out of the window, but that specific part just...really gets me. I think it's because once gagging happens, there's a certain kind of unavoidable surrendering that has to happen. You have to let yourself take a backseat and accept that your body is about to do something you're not exactly thrilled about. And that's just....so painfully uncomfortable. So yeah, you're not alone!
