Hello all...I was wondering if anyone else is this way too....
Anytime I am at a Birthday party, I always think about having to eat the cake after the person blows out the candles. I mean, while people blow out their candles, I have actually seen spit fly onto the cake!! ICK!
Well, I will tell you...I have been scared of eating other people's Birthday cakes if the candles have been blown out. (unless it is someone real close that I know is not sick)
Well, on to my story...LOL! Last Sunday (Father's Day) my husband's brother was having a B-day party/Father's Day celebration for my father-in-law. Well, there were 3 kids, (besides my 3 that came) and 8 of us adults. Well, as my husband's sister-in-law was lighting like 8 candles on the cake, she told my father-in-law to blow them out. That was no big deal, because I know him well, and I know he was not sick. BUT THEN....she RELIT the damn candles for one of the kids that wanted to blow them out too!!! So one of the kids blew them out, and then his sister had to do it after him too!!! YUCK!! So I was thinking..."uh, one person's spit was enough...but there is no way I am going to eat that cake now!" I mean, in my mind, I could just see all the spit dripping off of it...and all the "kid germs". I declined the offer of the cake. (whick looked soooooo good) Luckily,my hubby's SIL then brought in a pan of chocolate cake also that had no candles blown out on it. "YAYYYYYY!"...uh, until she started cutting it into squares and licking her fingers as she was putting the pieces on plates, and then letting one of the kids stick their fingers in it to taste the frosting!!!!!!! But....I just took a piece from the way back, and ate it. My gosh...alot of frustration and anxiety for us emets huh???? SHEESH!!!!! Charlotte
