I haven't read through the replies of this thread as only have a short amount of time here, but from the sounds of your first post it is unmistakably Rotavirus. The sudden onset of fever with d* lasting around 5-6 days with the d* sometimes lasting up to 10 days is classic Rotavirus. Contrary to popular belief, adults don't develop immunity to Rotavirus, although infections in adults tend to be milder (due to previous infection in childhood) and so v* less much less common and many Rotavirus infection in adults can be asymptomatic.
