Yeah, I think Aleve is a little stronger than Advil. You can also try the Red Cross Toothache Kit, which is available in drug stores. I see you're in Canada though so I can't guarantee it'll be as easy to find. Basically it's a really strong oil that you apply to the tooth with a little cotton ball and it has a strong numbing effect. When my wisdom teeth were coming in, the kit plus a combo of medications helped a bit.
