Default Amoxicillin for tooth infection... question.

I took my first dose about two hours ago with food and water. I feel fine so far, aside from anxiety about GETTING n* later, but do you think I'm in the clear if it hasn't affected me yet? I'm really freaking out. I was considering not even taking the antibiotics at all, but I was talked into it.

You will be fine. Amoxicillin is very well tolerated. Keep your tooth infection from spreading and take the amoxicillin faithfully.

You don't mess with a tooth infection. Those things are nasty and can spread and be serious. I'm battling one now with penicillin. I didn't take it right at first, so I have to do it all over again. I sat on it and didn't mention it and now it's not wanting to go away. So take it as it says and finish the dose. And if it's going to make you sick, it'd would have been in the first 30-40 mins after it breaks down in your stomach. Just take it with food and you'll be ok. They can cause some mild d* after a few days, but that is normal. Get some probiotics to help with that.

Amoxicillin is fine. After a few days it may give some people bit of mild diarrhoea, and occasionally it can give you a funny taste in your mouth, but honestly those minor side effects are a walk in the park compared to what can happen if a dental infection is left untreated! I can't stress enough how correct crd08 is about this, please don't muck about finish your full course of tablets! Hope your tooth issue is sorted soon.
