    Default Gross question ..but curious

How do you guys feel when you see IT?
I only wonder cos I walked past a dead roadkilled animal today(sorry for being morbid...) and nearly jumped out of my skin, then when I went to grab a coffee I saw what looked like....let's just say a very very rough night for a young man or woman as it was evidently drunk v* and I was able to glance three times without feeling scared, nervous or even grossed out. And yet, when someone says they feel sick I'm out of the door within a mini second... Am I on a small recovery?

I am more upset by seeing puke than I am by seeing vomiting happening.

I'm grossed out by seeing v*, but it doesn't make me panic as long as I can keep my distance as I know there's pretty much no chance I could catch it just from some on the ground. As long as the person who did it is nowhere nearby (and I can't smell it, as my sense of smell is really strong and I'm easily overstimulated) I can just avoid looking and carry on. Not so seeing someone do it or being around someone who feels sick.

I'm grossed out when I see the substance but not too panicked. It's witnessing or hearing someone actually do it that sends me into a panic. I joke (partially haha) with my husband that whenever we have children and they get sick I'm volunteering to be the one who cleans up the floor/bed/whatever while he cleans the child (because of my fear of them starting to vomit again.) Hopefully I'll be better once those days come and not so panicked about it but that gives an idea of my reaction to the substance vs the act of it.

I think part of it goes back to control. Since when there is just some vomit on the ground, it's done with. But when someone says they feel sick or are actively being sick there's that loss of control over the situation which can be difficult to deal with.

The only time vomit bothers me is if it's contagious. My son gets migraines and seizures that cause him to vomit and it's no big deal to me. I can watch people vomit, clean it up, comfort the person, and so on as long as there is no chance of me catching it.

I say YES!!!! to a small victory! The fact that you were able to see it and that you were able to RATIONALLY determine that it was from a night of drinking is HUGE!!! You didn't come here and ask if it was contagious, describing the scene, etc, etc, etc! I think you're doing awesome!
