Hello all - old and new friends.

I do hope i find you all well and panic free - i cant say the same for me tho... i feel abit like a failure really - after trying so hard to come off effexor - the panics are back and i have gone back to 75 mg a day. i need it - i really do!

at the mo im having awful attacks at least once a week - and they always set off really bad diarrohea - maybe 6 or 7 times a night.

i am also trying to find a CBT practitioner in my area but honestly it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack - i have emailed 6 private ones and ahd no reply at all yet

and on top of all this i was made redundant and had to find a new job - thats ok tho coz i start on monday 17th oct and im looking fwd to it really - my only concerns being what if i get sick at work blah blah blah....

anyways - hope u are all well and coping ok....

    love and hugs
    ems xx

    Hi Ems,

good to hear from you. Keep up your quest to find a good therapist! And stay on your Effexor! The latest research pretty much proves that people who need it are lacking in chemicals and chemical receptors in the brain. If they go off it, the problem will return in full force. Best to stay on. Think of it like insulin to the diabetic - a pain in the neck, but thank God for it, right? Also, can't live without it.

    All the best!

    Hi Ems,

Good for you for trying to find a therapist! I hope he can help you. I think when you want to go off your meds, you can better do this with a therapist, than alone!

Hey ems, I'm sorry you are having panics a lot. But you are not a failure, like sage said if you need it you need it, nothing wrong w/ getting help and using what works for you. Good luck in finding a therapist, I'm sure you will and it will be worth the wait! As for the job good luck in that! It's great to be excited about something!

Is Effexor the one that causes weight gain, I am sensitive to weight gain so I don't want to try anything that will increase my appetite. I tried Paxil a few years ago and gained 35 lbs in 8 weeks. I haven't lost it yet. I take Wellbutrin and xanax as needed doesn't really help with my emet though.
