without v*. It started last night with the d* every 15 min. and today finally ended around 10 am and now I have a fever. But my tummy is much better. I'm drinking gingerale. At one point in the night I had to go outside in the cold to help me keep from v* but I didn't do it! Just wanted to offer some hope to those who are worried about catching it.

Good to hear you survived it!

Were you nauseous much? Did you take any meds to help with the nausea?

How are your children? Has no one else caught it?

Glad you are feeling some better!!

aww, thanks guys! Yes, i did take some phengren when I started with the d*. It is an 8 hour drug, so let's see, it musta wore off around 3 am, and then at 5 am was that one battle (lol) on the deck. I didn't dare swallow anything at that point. Somehow I fell back asleep around 6, my husband got my oldest off to school, and around 8 I took another phenegren although I was feeling slightly better--just in case.Even though I had the phenegren, my stomach still "hurt." Not bad hurt, just not right. No, my kids didn't have it. Just like last year I was the first one to get it. I helped out in my daughter's kindergarten class Friday and there was a little boy out with a sv. I helped some of the children with their penmanship which involved me holding their hands to form the letters. Then Friday night I went out with some of my friends to dinner and shopping. My family wasn't with me so that might be where I caught it?

The saddest thing ever is that now I'm on kind of a "high" because I made it through and don't have to worry about coming down with it again, kwim? sick, sick, sick lol.

Glad you made it and you are feeling better. Are you worried about your family getting sick? Just curious.

I got the phenergan (am I finally spelling that right lol?) from my doctor last month when we went to the Bahamas. I told him I was worried about motion sickness, weird food, etc.

I am a little worried about my family getting it, buta million times less than ifI hadn't had it already. They've v* on me so many times (lol) that doesn't really bother me anymore, just the thought of *me* getting it, kwim? Like when my 4 year old had his tonsils out, he v* twice from the blood and anesthesia, and it didn't bother me a bit because I knew I couldn't catch it. Just my weird little version of this phobia!

I should tell you that I have had at least 7-8 sv's since I've developed this phobia and didn't v* with any of them, and this is the first time I've had phenergan.

jennyleigh, I think it did. I felt yucky and had the d* after I took it, but didn't get that awful wave of n* until after it wore off. Unfortunately, I don't have the suppositories and at that point I didn't dare swallow anything. I slept a little after that and when I woke took the smallest sip of water I could to wash another one down. That was about 8:30 in the morning, and then around 3 in the afternoon I felt yuck again, but no more of that awful n* and the d* had stopped around 10 that morning. Then by 7-8:00 at night I was better, so it was just about exactly 24 hours from start to finish. I think I could have done it without the phenergan, but I wouldn't have slept that night at all and there would have been more than one "battle."
