WHEN WILL I EVER NOT GET FREAKED AFTER EATING OUT?!?!?

this is so ridiculous!!!!

last night.. i felt great. i went out to a mexican eatery with my parents. it was good. i loved it, really. i wouldnt touch the salt shaker, and i flipped the menu over with my pinky finger.. but in terms of avoiding the restaurant all together.. i thought it was a good step.

the worst part for me was drinking straight out of the glass instead of the straw...

but here i am. the next morning.. my stomach is feeling bonkers and im blaming the restaurant and its dirty workers! you can never see the people in the back. who knows!

i read somewhere that #1 way way foodborne illness is spread..is through sick restaurant people handling our food!

when will there ever be a health code that BANS sick employees from going NEAR anything we'd eventually put in our mouth. for a WEEK i say! i dont care if you're out 40 bucks a day. dont touch my food!

Im sure the restaurant and food was absolutely fine and you will be ok.

Whenever I go out to eat, I am convinced I will get sick. I end up saying to myself "hell if it happens, it happens" but that just makes me freak out even more!!

It maybe just becos youre feeling anxious after going out, but you should congratulateyourself for going out in the first place!

Let me know how youre feeling!

That's a big step! You're probably just worrying yourself because you're thinking about it. Or, maybe you ate something you don't normally eat? Mexican food is delicious but it can be fickle sometimes!

Ugh.. Liz, I am the same way. I don't know what to tell you. I annoy everyone around me because I do the same thing.

Liz,

I understand where you're coming from. I don't usually give it /much/
thought, but the conditions of the kitchen and staff do tend to crop up to
some degree when I eat out. I usually give myself a two hour window after
eating to see whether or not FP will set in - I know, that's just another
silly thing I do - and try for the 'If it happens, it happens' stance.
However, if there's one thing I've realized, it's that worrying about it
makes it worse and makes you jump to conclusions and panic. That won't
help you or anyone else.

Try to calm down, though I know it's hard - believe me. Pop a mint after
dinner, perhaps, as I usually associate them with settling my stomach. /
And/ they make your breath better, so there's the added, non-emet
bonus.

Honestly, though, don't worry. You're certainly not alone, but you should
acknowledge that part of the reason you're feeling 'not-so-well' is
probably because you're working yourself up over it. That's what I've done
in the past, anyway. And not-so-distant past, to boot.

Crystal
