Every night... Every time I eat... I feel n*

I can't deal with this anymore. I'm ready to have myself comitted.

HAH! What a joke. I don't have insurance or money. That means I'm all on my own.

Dammit dammit dammit dammit.

I CAN NOT deal with this anymore. I can't. I can't take it.

Every time I eat. Every single time, no matter what it is.

I can't make it stop.

I'm so sorry you feel this way...It must be awful to feel that way EVERY time you eat - I don't know what to suggest to make it better. I'm sure you've already tried taking your mind of it with various distractions...*feels helpless* Maybe some of the others will be able to suggest something? I hope so because I have no idea

Sorry to be so useless...

hey uidactinide,
i'm so sorry you're feeling so hopeless with this nausea you're experiencing, but i can reassure you, that this is not genuine nausea..it's far from it.
without sounding blunt, your pattern of nausea, sounds exactly like mine was.. i almost anticipated feeling nauseated, therefore i did, and i felt so frustrated with feeling it everytime i ate..
believe me when i say, i know where you're coming from..but remember, when you feel hungry, you eat! don't let the hindrance of nausea hang over you..otherwise you'll make yourself ill/
you shouldn't have to deal with this, so in the meantime..focus on the foods you enjoy, your "safe" foods if you like?
Until you feel you can build up to eating what you would regularly eat.. then try the "little and often" routine..i hope you manage to slay this nausea..
the only comfort i can give ya, is that you will *know* when it is real nausea..
good luck

I feel sick everyday as well, and often think the same things.
I'll start ranting to my boyfriend, saying he needs to put me in a
straight jacket and build me a padded room! And I REALLY do feel
crazy sometimes. I know what it's like to not have insurance or
money. I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to find something I
can afford monthly, but most health insurance companies don't cover
psycologists. It's really hard. But you are not
alone. Carrie

I'm sorry you're going through this as well, roxi, and that you even
had to deal with it at all, jazz. Chloe, don't feel bad for not knowing
what to say; the fact that you wanted to say anything at all to help me
was more than enough, hon.

It's really making me crazy because I wake up and feel fine, and think
"Okay, today I can eat and for once I'll be just fine". So I eat
something, usually small as a "just in case", and as soon as I do I
feel sick. I've tried not eating red meat, drinking milk with meals,
and all sorts of things to try to keep the n* at bay.

A friend of mine did mention something that made sense last night,
though. My everyday n* always gets worse during the two weeks before
I'm due to get my next Depo shot, and she went through the same thing.
It never failed for her; 2-2.5 weeks before her shot was due she would
get n*, cranky, and generally anxious until actually getting the shot
and then she'd be fine. It's like the longest PMS you could think of.

(However, I did wake up in a really good mood today. I'm starting my
first real excavation soon [I'm a student archaeologist], and I had
dreams about it all night last night. I woke up really happy and
excited)

Maybe you have an overproduction of stomach acids?? If that was the case, food would aggrevate the acids for a few minutes. (does your n* only last a few minutes??)

Anyways, the hormone thing makes alot of sense to me! (Estrogenand progesterone are good for giving you lots of stomach acids, causing n*)

I get n* off and on, starting 10 days before my period. I have just learned to deal with it. Maybe you can pop a tums in your tummy right after you eat??

Good luck in resolving this!! Charlotte

I actually did eat a Tums right after eating tonight, before the n* set
in, and only had one very quick moment of feeling ill (but that was
because I thought "I hope I don't feel sick tonight"). It worked, for
now!

That is great that you didn't feel ill for long! Can you maybe try and distract yourself when you eat?? Like everytime you notice that you are about to think about the dreaded, force yourself to focus on a different distraction. It is hard at first, but it will start to come naturally, and you won't get panicky or n* from anxiety anymore. (that is if your n* is only anxiety/panic related)

Good luck, and I hope this nightmare ends for you soon!!!
