    Default Anyone from Scotland?

Is there anyone on here from Scotland?

I've been a member on here for quite a few years now and have only recently logged back on since I got over emetophobia. (Don't beleive me? Search for my previous threads and you'll see just how bad I was).

I'm writing to give those in Scotland hope, or anywhere really, but particularly Scotland. There is an emetophobia seminar coming up in Edinburgh on 6th June. I will be speaking at it and retelling my story of how I overcame it along with amazing advice and support from the main Scotland consultant. I cured my emetophobia alone at home with just the "Cure your Emetophobia and Thrive" book, I also had a short skype session with a consultant. I have been cured since Feb '15 and my life couldn't be better. I'm training to become a consultant myself as the programme helped me to much. My lifes mission is to cure as many emetophobes as I can.

I seriously urge those in Scotland and nearby to view the links below. I swear, I was once were you are now, struggling to beat this thing. But it is possible with lots of determination and drive and the right tools. Any questions, contact us via the facebook page below and I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Scotland Emetophobia Facebook page > https://www.facebook.com/emetophobiascotland?fref=ts

    Thrive webpage > http://www.thriveprogramme.org/

My testimonial video, see, i'm a real person! > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWh5PAMry1I

Really hope some folk take a look, pull yourselves away from the scary posts on here. The only thing stopping you from curing this is your own self doubt.

This is so cool! Unfortunately I'm not from Scotland (although my family is), but this is just so cool and I want to thank you for sharing this! Congratulations on your recovery - I'm in the process of reading Thrive and it's really excellent. I'm taking my time so I can actually do the exercises. But so far I've found it very helpful.

I live down in Milton Keynes, and this would be great for me to attend, however it is too far for me to travel to.

Check out the website and Facebook pages there may be ones coming up in the near future closer to you. I Def think a West coast of Scotland one is needed and I'll pass that onto the folk. There has been one in London earlier this year but I'm sure there will be more planned in the future.

    Hi there

I live in Glasgow , I've been emetiphobic since P4. It usually acts up when a loved one has a stomach virus , ie I get shadow symptoms so to speak . But to be honest with you the last 1-2 years it hasnt effected me daily like before . Distraction works best for me and having a 2 year old def keeps me distracted , on the other hand having a 2 year old makes me more likely to be around vomiting . Anyway I would be interested in helping myself get over it 100% . I feel I'm 60-70% there. Thanks Garry

    Hi Garry,

Thats great you feel 60-70% there, I think the seminar could really help you. Would be great to see you there. Have you checked out the links in my original post? Theres information on the facebook page about how to sign up. You'll learn many more techniques of how to overcome it and you'll learn alot about yourself too. If you've any questions feel free to get in touch with me before you sign up.

I am from Scotland but not able to attend, very interested in this though I've been emetophobic for about 10 years! What else do you do apart from the seminar?

    Hi,

Check out the links on my original post. Will give you a good idea. I'm currently training to become a consultant myself but you can also work through the Cure your emetophobia and thrive book on your own at home if you have the will power.

Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Yes! I am! Where is the event happening? I actually own that book but haven't got around to reading it yet. I'd love to come along, it's refreshing to hear about someone who's life has changed.

Hey! I'm in Scotland and I've been working through Thrive with a consultant. I'm getting there but still have a ways to go. It's made an enormous difference in my life and I've got a new job and am socialising again, but I still have to work really hard to manage my thinking when I have (what I consider to be) 'real' nausea or when I've definitely been exposed. How do you deal with situations like that?! I can go for days/ weeks and be fine but then (like tonight) I feel 'off' and don't handle it especially well! I think the conference is such a great idea - it's just a shame it's a bit on the pricey side.

Hi, if I ever have blips I remind myself of all the techniques that i've used. particularly writing things down helps. If you ever fancy a chat about stuff add me on facebook, i'm https://www.facebook.com/KatieGow129 (been married since I joined the forum, hence the name change) It would be good if you could make the conference, as i'm sure you'd get alot out of it. But I can understand it's not possible for everyone.

Thanks, I seem to have missed the link to the Facebook page when I went back to try and find the details. I'm definitely going to try to be there.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I'm not really able to pay the price of the ticket :s It's pretty steep...
